Scottish Mountain Rescue (SMR) is an umbrella organisation, with teams the final decider of how they operate. On the severest end of the spectrum, polytrauma was encountered in 7%, and concerns over a spinal injury in 7%. Seizures, chest pain, intoxication, and deliberate self-harm were also reported.

Contraindicated seizures or porphyria. Improved Visualization: Video laryngoscopes allow for the use of standard or hyperangulated geometry, essentially allowing the operator to “look around the corner” on an anterior airway. Minimal histamine release. Cons: Short duration of action. Pain upon injection. Can be titrated easily.
