Obviously, one of the most concerning considerations in neonates is the potential for infection. Can identify T. pallidum before antibodies against it can be detected.

There is weak evidence to suggest that moderate hypothermia (32-33 o C) can be used for ICP control in specialist settings. Do we need seizure prophylaxis? Children and young people have lower seizure thresholds than adults. Either levetiracetam or phenytoin can be used for seizure prophylaxis.
