ACEP’s Clinical Ultrasound Accreditation Program (CUAP) strives for continuous quality management and patient safety, communication, responsibility, and clarity regarding the use of clinical ultrasound. In 2022, only 25 percent of the patients needing OUD treatment received it, according to the report.

Colleagues at the University of Mississippi Medical Center have developed a robust telehealth network with over 25 critical access hospitals in that state. The weighting must strongly be on patient safety and on expanding the opportunities for board certified emergency physicians. We must always work against a balance.
