The visual confrontation of a man in pain with an obvious amputation and airway burns will induce a catecholamine surge in all but the psychopathic. He may need large amounts of fluid down the track as part of his burns management – we’ll calculate this a bit later. Airway compromised by burns. Keep him warm and covered.
