A whole blood transfusion is initiated for the management of her anemia. She receives IV calcium gluconate and bicarbonate as well as oral potassium binders for hyperkalemia. She receives IV antimalarials for severe malaria (as defined by AKI, anemia, electrolyte imbalance, and a history of convulsions).
