9,13 3) Switch to a NCCT scan CECT has been long considered to outperform NCCT in acute trauma and acute abdominal emergencies and has thus been referred by ED physicians to rule out life-threatening emergencies. Of the 96 patients (22.6%) who received follow-up imaging, NCCT was done in 28/96 and CECT in 22/96 of the patients.
