As you attempt to examine the patient, he has a generalized, tonic-clonic seizure. There is weak evidence to suggest that moderate hypothermia (32-33 o C) can be used for ICP control in specialist settings. Do we need seizure prophylaxis? Children and young people have lower seizure thresholds than adults. Either levetiracetam or phenytoin can be used for seizure prophylaxis. 2019 Apr;20(4):404].
