Surgical wound debridement and dressing are performed and the malaria rapid diagnostic test (MRDT) is noted to be positive. Intravenous (IV) crystalloids, IV paracetamol (acetaminophen), and IV dextrose are administered. Samples are drawn for type and crossmatch, complete blood count, and blood chemistry.
