The blood tests revealed lymphocyte-predominant leukocytosis with a white blood cell count (WBC) of 40 x 10/L, raising suspicion of Bordetella pertussis. Post-ET, careful monitoring is essential, particularly for secondary bacterial infections and sepsis. The other investigations are unremarkable, including a normal CT head.
